The Loraine Diner
This is a personal project on the Loraine Diner: an old, stainless steel, boxcar-style diner that was razed to make way for a McDonalds. I had been working on another project documenting roadside Americana when I first came across the Loraine Diner. I photographed the diner for a period of 18 months before it was demolished. The entire project took four and a half years from the first click of the camera’s shutter, through the editing and printing.

Buddhism
An ongoing personal project (appropriate since I have not yet attained Nirvana), which contains shots from across the U.S. and Japan. It focuses on the different Mahayana Buddhist traditions (Zen, Pure Land, and Tibetan) and the Sangha (the community of Buddhist monks and nuns).

Father Jack
Commissioned by the University of Portland Magazine (their editor saw the Buddhism series and wanted to adopt the idea to a Roman Catholic Priest), this series documents the daily life of a Roman Catholic Priest. Both the professional and the personal aspects of his life are traced, and the series seeks to show a member of the clergy in situations outside of those in which most people would normally experience them.

One Day. 24 Hours at OHSU
Shot all in one day for Oregon Health and Science University for a book as a "Day In The Life" type project. The series documents the daily workings of a major research university and hospital. These are my nine final photographs used in the printed book.
